Chad-O-Chef was established in 1983 with the Chad-O-Chef gas braai and pioneered the first locally manufactured, vent-free, flueless gas fireplaces in South Africa. It is a trusted household name and a leader in South African gas-fireplace production and design. It uses the latest technology to offer a safe, functional designer gas solution that produces optimal heat output without smoke. The vent-free gas fireplace insert conversions don’t require a vent or fume extraction system and can be installed in any room.

Their classic and contemporary gas inserts and universal conversion grates make switching from wood to LP gas easy. The brand offers single-sided, double-sided and drop-in fireplaces (vented), and colourful Chad-O-Glow fire glass and ceramic pebbles complete the bejewelled look. Chad-O-Chef is famous for their state-of-the-art stainless steel hybrid braai, which burns coal, gas, smoker chips or wood, and for their retrofit sizzler and built-in braais. Installation accessories include rotisserie domes, stir-fry pans and extractor systems.

Gas provides consistent heat and excellent temperature control. Chad-O-Chef installation is non-invasive, with no specific requirements for a chimney, and the fireplaces are easy to use. Units come equipped with an oxygen-depletion system, a flame-failure device and are all environmentally friendly. Products are approved by LPGSASA.

All gas products must be installed by a licensed gas technician to ensure safety and functionality. GC Fires offers installations by licensed gas technicians and certificates of compliance (COC), as well as site inspections for COCs.
