Freestanding Fireplaces

A freestanding stove centrally located on the lower level of a home can heat an entire home, and vents can be added to the floors of rooms above the stove to take advantage of the heat transfer. As the fireplace is not mounted in or to a wall, heat is spread from all sides of the fireplace and no heat is lost to surrounding masonry. An exposed flue within a room radiates 10% more heat than a built-in design featuring a brick chimney.

A freestanding stove isn’t tied to your existing fireplace space, so you can place it just about anywhere you want, and the classic or modern look of these stoves makes them a great fit for a wide variety of interiors. You won’t have to pay extra for renovations, and the fireplace can be installed quickly and simply. It’s also easily moved, with minimal post-repairs.

The flue installation pathway is either straight up through the roof above the fireplace; straight up and out via the wall below ceiling height; or out the back of the fireplace and via the wall to outside, and this seldom takes more than half a day for a single-storey house when installed by one of our professional, in-house installation teams.

Models are available in steel or cast iron, with some higher end brands combining both. One-sided, three-sided and four-sided glass versions are available, while double-sided models make spectacular room dividers. Some models are able to swivel 180 degrees on their base, which makes entertaining in parallel areas easy. We have pellet-, anthracite-, multi-fuel- and wood-burning models, combination cookers, hydronic boiler stoves and models that connect to hot-air ducting.
