Description
This matte black, steel floor plate finishes off the look of your fireplace installation and lends it a professional look. It protects your wooden, carpeted or melamine floor covering from spilled coals and excess heat. Steel is a cost-effective option to use if you are not installing glass. It’s perfect for a more traditional style and finish.
‘Special orders’ cut to size are available. There is a short waiting period and pricing is on request.
The building regulations in South Africa stipulate that you are required to utilize a fire hearth if your flooring material near to your fireplace is of a combustible nature. The regulations are designed for all fireplaces including closed combustion and traditional open fireplaces. The hearth must be of ‘adequate thickness and of an incombustible material’ (SANS 10400: v2010).
